Cate Morrison has been a swimmer for the Burkwood summer swim team since 2012 at the age of 5. She's been a vital part of the Burkwood team, stepping into various roles like maintenance, snack bar, front desk, swim instructor, and any other position Burkwood needs filled, since starting at just 14 years old. She is a Sophomore at Brigham Young University in Idaho. She had a blast coaching the 8 and unders for the last 2 years and is thrilled to be back for an even more exciting season.
Carrington Hannon has been a part of the Burkwood team since 2020 but she began her swim journey at the age of 4. She has been working as a Burkwood swim instructor for the past 3 years and couldn’t be more excited to start coaching! She is a rising Sophomore at the University of Kentucky where she is a part of the Club Swim team and is studying Kinesiology.
MaryJane Ligday has swam for Burkwood since 2014. She is a graduating senior at Hanover High School and served as captain of the Hanover High School Swim Team as well as Secretary for her school’s FFA chapter. MaryJane works as a swim instructor at Burkwood, teaching kids how to swim. She couldn’t be more excited to spend her summer working with the 9-10 year olds again this year.
Taylor swam for Burkwood from 2011 to 2024 starting at 5 years old, and has been working as a swim instructor teaching kids how to swim for the last 4.5 years. She is a Junior at NC State studying mechanical engineering, where she is a part of the club triathlon team. She always loves helping out with the team and is super excited to coach.
My name is Nolan Feighner and I will be an assistant swim coach for the 2026 swim season. I have been swimming for almost a decade and I really love the sport. I attend Atlee High School in Mechanicsville and I have swam for their swim team under Coach Seeber. I swim for the SwimRVA Rapids when I am not swimming for Atlee. I am so glad that I will be coaching this year and I am looking forward to the season!
Olivia Godard has been swimming for Burkwood since she was 5 years old and Hanover Hurricanes since she was 10. She’s currently a sophomore at Hanover High School and is very excited to start her first year of coaching in burkwood. She has been teaching Sunday school and swim lessons so far this year and cannot wait to continue on her coaching journey this summer.
Caroline Cristman has been part of the Burkwood swim family since 2019, when she joined the team at age 9. Last year, at 15 years old, she began swimming year-round with the Hanover Hurricanes. Caroline is currently a sophomore at Westminster Academy and is excited to begin her first season coaching with Burkwood. Throughout the past year, she has worked as a junior coach with Hanover Hurricanes, coaching swimmers ages 9–12. This summer, she is especially excited to work with the 8-and-under swimmers and help make the season fun and rewarding for everyone.
